The Fifth Anniversary of the Passing of Choje Akong Tulku Rinpoche – Lama Rinpoche’s talk and inauguration of the Samye Ling Library for World Religions

On the fifth anniversary of the passing of Akong Tulku Rinpoche, katas were offered to Rinpoche’s throne, while the Swift Return Prayer, composed by His Holiness the 17th Gyalwang Karmapa, was recited. Choje Lama Yeshe Losal Rinpoche began the day’s celebrations with an inspiring talk, part of which we quote for you here: “Today, after the celebration, and offering of scarves, if you really believe in my brother, just think ‘we should learn from [his example].’ And I would like all of you to pledge to do whatever you can do to make your life better. That will make my brother very happy. And now we are bringing here one of the most renowned teachers Khenpo Lhabu, who is respected in every corner [of the world]. Everybody wants him, but he is here because he knows how much my brother dedicated for the benefit of all of you. And if Samye in Europe is ever going to be successful then you need to practise, practise, practise.”

Afterwards we headed over to the new library for the official opening ceremony of the Samye Ling library for World Religions, bringing to fruition many years of hard work by a dedicated team of volunteers headed up by Maggy Jones, pictured here with Lama Rinpoche. This was a project conceived and carefully planned by Akong Rinpoche, now brought to fruition. http://www.samyeling.org/projects/the-samye-library/
